Workshop On Teaching Methods Begins At UET

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23th August, 2016) : A three-day workshop on "Teaching Methodologies for Young Faculty" organised by Quality Enhancement Cell of University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore started at main campus on Tuesday.
The core aim of this activity is to provide the skills to young teachers regarding effective pedagogical approach for getting prominent place in market by producing productive mentors. In inaugural session, UET Vice Chancellor Prof.
Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said that the students are the big asset for any country, so this must be treated wisely. He urged the young teachers to demonstrate themselves as origin of knowledge by practising modern techniques to follow international standards.
He focused on Outcome Based education that is the only way to bring educational and technological revolution by achieving concrete results. VC advised the young faculty to train the youth on critical and analytical grounds to observe any phenomena deeply.
He gave a detailed presentation to the attendees about different standards set by authentic worldwide research based organisations. Prof Dr. Masood Ahmad Zaidi said that effective strategies must be adopted while transferring knowledge to gain proper achievements.
He said that all sort of communication gaps must be filled by generating inspirational wave among the students. Prof. Zaidi added that this will definitely increase the level of learning and expanding the innovation skills for attaining uniqueness.
He said that teachers must address the queries of students and pay full attention to the change in behaviours and attitudes in learners. In workshop, Director QEC Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas Anjum informed the audience about the objectives and targets of the event.
