LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Augst,2016) : Farhan Bhatti emerged winner in the net category of amateur and Mohsen Zafar topped in the gross category of amateur in the Independence Day of Pakistan golf championship here on Monday at Lahore Gymkhana course. In the handicap range 0-9, their in-depth knowledge of the golf course, especially the greens, supplemented by admirable application of golfing techniques enabled Farhan and Mohsen to capture the top performer prizes in a championship held to celebrate 69th Independence Day of Pakistan and duly supported and endorsed by CCBPL (Coca Cola Beverages Private Ltd). The net winner Farhan won the best net and managed to outshine 60 other eager competitors with a net score of 71.As for Mohsen Zafar, he too was splendid in his hitting off the tees and through a good all round effort he carded a round of gross 76. Weather conditions at the golf course carried ample touch of humidity that affected performance of many accomplished golfers like Waleed Zubair ,Tariq Qureshi and others. The combination of Waleed and Tariq managed to win positions other than the first. In the handicap category 10 to 18 the dominant performers were Nauan Nayyar in the net section and Faraan Ahmed Irfan in the gross competition.
Although they fall in the higher handicap group, they owe their victories to some fanciful hitting.
