Lucky, Blue Stars enter into 8th Right to Play Soccer semi-finals

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Nov, 2016 ) : Lucky stars and Blue Stars took berth into the semi-finals of the ongoing 8th Right to Play District Mardan Inter-Club Football Tournament being played at Younis Stadium Mardan on Monday.

Project manager of the Right to Play Mardan Muhammad Wali was the chief guest on this occasion. Member District Council Mardan Khas and Chairman District Football Association Ali Gohar, International Football player Muhammad Zahir of NBP, other members, players and large number of spectators were also present and witnessed the thrill-packed matches.

Before the start of the quarter-finals matches the players of the quarter-finalists teams were introduced to him. In the first quarter-final played at Younis Stadium Mardan Lucky Stars recorded victory against United Club Par Hoti, Mardan on penalty shoot-out.

The two teams played a 1-1 goal draw in the stipulated 70-minute time. Lucky Stars were jolted by United club when it took the lead in the very 4th minute of the match through Ibrhaim Khan, the right winger.

It was first move as Ibrahim travelled past three defenders soon after receiving a fine ball from the mid-fielder Haris Ahmad and quickly zoomed toward the rival goal-post where he netted a fine goal to make the tally 1-0.

The early goal lead created a panic like situation in the rank of Lucky Stars, a team remained unbeaten in the league round. Lucky Stars players managed their position and soon got position of the ball by making some beautiful moves as a result it was in the 19th minute when Lucky Stars leveled the tally through Sajid Khan on the field attempt.

When both the teams were locked 1-1, they raided on each other territory with some fine inroads but none of the team could get any lead.

Both were locked 1-1 at half-time and it was the second session in which both Lucky Stars and United Club forwards made some rallies of attacks but failed to score any goal.

To get certain result of the match both were awarded five each penalty kicks on which Lucky Stars availed all five chances but United club missed a target when Yasir saw his attempt went wide from the goal-post.

Thus Lucky Stars won the match by 6-5. In the second quarter-finals Blue Stars defeated Haider XI by 2-0 in another thrilling match. Blue Stars took the lead in the 9th minute when center striker Usman slammed in a beautiful goal from the 25-yard distance.

Usman took a foul kick just in front of the rival goal-post and saw his forceful kick into the net by leaving rival goal-keeper Shehzad guessing. It was spectacular goal as Blue Stars dominated the proceedings after taking the lead.

Haider XI on the other hands, after conceding the goal tried their hard to level the tally but were not allowed by Blue Stars defenders who were playing man-to-man, giving no chance to Haider XI forwards to strike back.

Blue Stars were leading 1-0 at half-time. It was the second session in which Blue Stars succeeded in scoring another goal through promising Usman on the field attempt. This time Usman travelled past two defenders and even the rival goal-keeper before slamming in a beautiful goal to make the tally 2-0.

Ali Rehman supervised the match while Khair Ul Amin and Usman acted as deputy referees while Akhtar Hussain acted as match referee.
