LOS ANGELES, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Augst,2016) : New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady missed his first scheduled exhibition start after reportedly cutting his thumb prior to Thursday's game against Chicago. Brady, 39, will miss New England's first four regular season games while serving his "Deflategate" suspension.
He reportedly cut his thumb on a pair of scissors prior to the game and left Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts shortly after. Brady was trying to pry something from the bottom of his shoes prior to taking the field and sustained the cut, according to US media.
It was not known if Brady required stitches as the Patriots were releasing no details about the mishap. Coach Bill Belichick bristled when asked about the injury and would not confirm the reports.
"I made a decision before the game to just play Jimmy (Garoppolo) and Jacoby (Brissett)," he said when asked why he only played two of his three quarterbacks in a 23-22 win over the Bears. Brady's agent, Don Yee, told NFL Media: "An accident occurred and Tom will be OK in time."
