
Pakistan Air Force 8-A Side Youth Football Tournament Begins

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Augst,2016) : To promote football in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the Directorate of sports Pakistan Air Force Sports Control board Committee on a thoroughly professional way Saturday launched an Eight-A Side Youth Football Tournament here at its premises with 13 teams vie for the top honor. Director PAF Sports Control Board Committee Group Captain Asghar Awan was the chief guest on this occasion who formally inaugurated the tournament.
Organizing Secretary Flt. Lt. Inam Ullah Khan, officials and office-bearers of various clubs and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Football Association were also present on this occasion. Flt. Lt. Inam Ullah Khan said that all the 13 participating teams have been divided in four different groups – A, B, C and D.
The tournament, he said, is being played on round robin league with two teams from each groups would qualify for the quarters-final and the winners of group-A will face the runners-up of group-C while the winners of group-C will face the runners-up of group-C.
Likewise, the winners of group-B will face runners-up of group-D and the winners of group-D will clash against the runners-up of group-B. He said it an initiative taken by the Pakistan Air Force only to promote club football in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which is considered as one of the hub of the game in the country.
He disclosed that no professional players would be allowed to participate in the tournament to be continued for a week. Earlier, in the opening match Alex FC beat Dictators FC club by 2-0 as both goals were scored by right winger Abdul Aziz. In the second match Dreams Killers FC beat Falcon United by 1-0 with Ali Murtaza, the center striker slammed in a beautiful goal in the dying moments. Now Falcon United SRSP FC will play against XDS, Elite Eagles will face Banana FC, Dictators-B FC will clash Sir Alex FC, Dictators-B will play against Invincible, Garrison Spikers vs Banana FC, Elite Eagles vs Kingsmen FC, Dream Killers vs Falcon United SRSP, Dream Killers vs DXS, Peshawar United vs Sir Alex FC, Garrison Spikers vs Kingsmen FC, Stunners FC vs Invincible, Dictators FC-A vs Peshawar United, Elite Eagles FC vs Garrison Spikers and Kingsmen FC vs Banana FC. All the 13 teams have been divided in four different groups.
The groups are as under: - Group-A: Kingsmen FC, Banana FC, Garrison Spikers, Elite Eagles. Group-B: Sir Alex FC, Peshawar United, Dictators FC-B Group-C: Dreams Killers, Falcon United SRSO FC, XDC. Group-D: Dictators FC-A, Stunners FC, Invincible FC
