
Over 100 Dead Including 53 Children In Monsoon-related Incidents Across Pakistan

Majority of fatalities occurred due to electrocution while Punjab province reported highest number of casualties overall
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-July 14th, 2025) More than 100 people including 53 children on Monday lost their lives across Pakistan as a result of the recent spell of monsoon rains, official figures have confirmed.
The data cited by an international news agency showed at least 111 people died between June 26 and July 14 due to various rain-related incidents during the ongoing monsoon season.
The majority of the fatalities occurred due to electrocution while Punjab province reported the highest number of casualties overall.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab confirmed that 44 people have died and 134 have been injured so far in rain-related incidents across the province this year.
A detailed report released by the PDMA Punjab revealed that of the 44 fatalities, 27 were caused by the collapse of old and dilapidated houses, 5 due to lightning strikes, 4 from electrocution, and 8 by drowning while bathing.
The authorities issued advisories urging citizens to take necessary precautions during the monsoon season as further rain is expected in several parts of the country in the coming days.
