NEW YORK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jul, 2025) Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar is set to represent Pakistan at the United Nations High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, which opens today at UN Headquarters in New York.

The three-day conference, jointly hosted by Saudi Arabia and France, is expected to draw global attention as world leaders, diplomats, and foreign ministers gather to revive efforts for a long-elusive peace between Israel and Palestine. The conference comes at a critical time, amid mounting humanitarian crises and renewed diplomatic momentum.

Senator Dar will deliver Pakistan’s national statement during the plenary session, reaffirming Islamabad’s consistent and principled support for the two-state solution, calling for the establishment of a viable, sovereign Palestinian state along pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.

The conference is being co-chaired by Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Jean-Noël Barrot, representing the French Republic. It will continue from July 28 to July 30, focusing on diplomatic, political, and economic avenues to achieve a durable resolution to the conflict.

In addition to addressing the UN conference, Senator Dar is scheduled for a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event. He will meet with the Foreign Ministers of Egypt and Kuwait, the Advisor for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan and Prime Minister of Palestine, Mohammad Mustafa.

The Deputy Prime Minister will also hold a press briefing with US-based Pakistani journalists at Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, where he will share Pakistan’s perspective on the conference and broader foreign policy priorities.
