Over 48,000 Pakistani Intending Pilgrims Arrive In Saudi Arabia Via 192 Flights; 1,073 Welfare Staff Deployed

MAKKAH MUKARRAMAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th May, 2026) As part of the Hajj 2026 operations, a total of 48,388 Pakistani intending pilgrims under the Government Scheme have arrived in Saudi Arabia via 192 flights from various cities across Pakistan. This arrival marks 41% of the total government hajj quota. To ensure the guidance, service, and convenience of the pilgrims, the Pakistan Hajj Mission has completed the deployment of 1,073 welfare staff and assistants in the field.
According to the Pakistan Hajj Mission in Jeddah, out of the total flights arrived so far, 134 landed in Madinah Munawara, while 58 landed at Jeddah Airport. In addition to the government scheme, the arrival of 9,368 pilgrims under the private hajj scheme has also been completed.
Currently, approximately 80% of the pilgrims (38,584) are staying in Makkah Mukarramah, while the remaining 20% (9,804) are present in Madinah Munawara.
The 1,073 deployed welfare staff members include 635 moavineen (assistants), 255 medical staff, 175 khuddam (SDS), and 8 technical staff members. Geographically, the mission has deployed 951 staff members in Makkah, 261 in Madinah, and 21 personnel at Jeddah Airport to welcome and assist the guests of Allah.
To facilitate comfortable and easy transportation for pilgrims in Makkah Mukarramah, excellent transport arrangements have been established. Many buses and coasters are currently active in the field to ensure that pilgrims can reach the Holy Haram in minimum time with maximum comfort.
