AJK Celebrates World Mothers Day With Renewal Of Deep-rooted Love, Affection

MIRPUR (AJK) , (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 10th May, 2026) Like rest of the world, International Mothers Day was celebrated in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) also on Sunday with greatest enthusiasm and devotion portraying the mother as the only supreme source of heartiest love, comfort, and affection for her kids the world over.

International Mother's Day is most commonly observed on the second Sunday of May in many countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, Australia, and Pakistan. In 2026, this date fallen on Sunday - May 10. However, Mother's Day is celebrated on different dates globally, such as March 21 in much of the Arab world and the last Sunday of May in France.

Special ceremonies, hosted in various parts of AJK to mark great respect and honour for the supreme relation of mother, hosted on Sunday were the hallmark of the World Mothers Day that observed in Azad Jammu & Kashmir similar to rest of the world.

Mother's day (also known as Mothering Sunday) is held on the second Sunday of May in most countries. It is a worldwide celebration of mothers, motherhood and the influence that mothers make to the lives of their children and society.

The World Mothers Day in AJK was observed with renewal of the pledge to love mothers as much as possible to keep the sole satisfied in view of the most dignified and supreme status of this relation as also enshrined by the teachings of islam.

Sons and daughters conveyed good wishes to their mothers coupled with the pray for long lives of the mothers to keep the children intact with the blessing of this supreme relation.

Whereas those unfortunate, who have lost this relation, prayed for the rest of the souls of their mothers in eternal peace.

Talking to APP on eve of the World Mothers Day Retired Secretary Information, Tourism and Archeology Mrs. Midhat Shehzad highlighted the superiority and exceptional significance of this relation as also confided and determined in the teachings of Islam. She emphasized the need for maintaining the high decorum of the relation of mother through showing maximum respect and honor of this supreme relation all the time especially at the old stage.

'Maan' Maan' Hee Hoti Hay ', she mentioned popular saying in the eastern society while talking to APp here on Sunday to express her remarks on observance if tge world mothers day.

Social worker Marayam Qureshi said that the gravity of deep-rooted love for a mother should also be asked from those hearts who lost this great relation and whom mothers are under maunds of ‘Matti’ (earth refuse).

She said that although mother is a small world but the reality hidden in this word was ascertained only to those who, by now, have deprived of this most superior relation.

She advised all including the young generation for fully obeying the advises of mother all the time especially at each step of their old age to keep the soul satisfied besides fully acting upon the Islamic teachings which enshrined the superior status of this supreme relation.
