AJK To Have State-of-the-art, Fully Equipped Cancer Hospital Soon: AJK PM

MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2025) Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq Wednesday reaffirmed his government's resolve to ensure the emergence of a state-of-the-art, fully equipped cancer hospital in the state.

The Prime Minister expressed these views during a visit to the newly constructed Atomic Energy Cancer Hospital in the AJK state metropolis, a project completed with the cooperation and financial assistance of the government of Pakistan.

Speaking on this occasion, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq described the health facility as a valuable gift from the Federal government to the region.

He said that it was his long-cherished desire to see a state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility established in Azad Kashmir.

He announced that the State Health Services Department would provide all possible operational support to the hospital.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the state-of-the-art machinery and cutting-edge medical equipment available at the hospital. It is worth mentioning here that the hospital, completed at a cost of Rs 5.4 billion, will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening diseases like cancer.

During his visit, the prime minister inspected various departments of the hospital and reviewed the treatment facilities being provided to patients.

He also received a comprehensive briefing from Dr. Shazia Fatima, the DG NMO, about the various departments and the modern diagnostic and treatment machinery available for the treatment of various types of cancer.
