MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jul, 2025) The 786th annual Urs of revered Sufi Saint Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya Multani will commence from July 31 in Multan, with the district administration initiating comprehensive preparations to ensure a smooth, secure, and hospitable environment for thousands of devotees expected to attend.
A high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Wasim Hamid Sindhu was held to review arrangements for the three-day Urs celebrations. The session was attended by Assistant Commissioner (City) Abdul Sami Sheikh along with representatives from key departments including Police, Auqaf, Municipal Corporation, and Rescue 1122. Each department briefed the DC on their specific plans to facilitate the event.
Addressing the meeting, DC Sindhu emphasized that exemplary hospitality would be extended to the visiting devotees.
“We will ensure that the participants experience a spiritually fulfilling and safe environment through exceptional sanitation and security arrangements,” he stated.
The deputy commissioner also directed a comprehensive traffic management plan to maintain smooth flow during the Urs celebrations, along with the provision of high-quality lodging and food facilities for visitors. “All district departments are instructed to establish their camps at Qila Qasim Bagh throughout the three-day event to assist the public promptly,” he ordered.
The Urs of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya, a towering figure of the Suhrawardi Sufi order, draws devotees from across Pakistan and abroad. The saint’s shrine, located in the heart of Multan, becomes the center of spiritual devotion, prayers, qawwali performances, and traditional rituals during the Urs.
