
ATC Extends Interim Bail Of Musarrat, Jamshed Cheema In May 9 Riots Cases

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday extended interim bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Musarrat Jamshed Cheema and Jamshed Iqbal Cheema till September 19 in connection with multiple cases related to the May 9 riots
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jul, 2025) An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday extended interim bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Musarrat Jamshed Cheema and Jamshed Iqbal Cheema till September 19 in connection with multiple cases related to the May 9 riots.
ATC Judge Manzer Ali Gill presided over the hearing during which both leaders appeared before the court to mark their attendance.
The court was informed that the investigation against Jamshed Iqbal Cheema had been completed, while it directed authorities to complete the probe against Musarrat Jamshed Cheema before the next hearing.
The court also instructed the defence counsel to present their arguments on the bail applications at the upcoming hearing.
Musarrat Jamshed Cheema has obtained interim bail in eight separate cases, whereas Jamshed Iqbal Cheema has been granted interim relief in four cases.
The charges against the couple include involvement in the attacks on Jinnah House, Askari Tower, and incidents of arson and vandalism outside Rahat Bakery, all of which occurred during the violent protests that followed the arrest of the PTI founder on May 9.
