Commissioner Imposed 3-month Ban On Swimming In Canals

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2025) Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Division, Nadeem Ahmed Abro, has issued an official notification imposing a complete 90-day ban on swimming, bathing, and recreational activities in all major canals and branches throughout the division.

According to the notification, this decision has been taken in view of the rising number of tragic incidents and loss of human lives due to swimming in canals during the summer and monsoon seasons. Commissioner has termed this measure essential for the protection of precious human lives. The notification further directs that officers not below the rank of Inspector at concerned police stations take strict action against violators under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
