Educational Institutions To Mark Defence Day

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -3rd Sep,2016) : Educational institutions of Sukkur and Larkana divisions are going to celebrate the Defence Day on September 6 (Tuesday) with fervour. Parades, walks and seminars will be arranged to mark the day.

Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) has arranged a walk on the campus to pay tributes to Pakistan Army for rendering great sacrifices for the country's defence. Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Parveen Shah will led the walk.

The day will also be marked in the Benazir Bhutto Medical Univesristy Larkana where the faculty and staff will observe a one-minute silence in the memory of war martyrs.

The Sukkur Institute of business Administration (IBA-Sukkur) has also arranged a Quran khawani, a flag-hoisting ceremony, a walk, a seminar, speeches and national songs to mark the day.

Director, IBA-Sukkur, Professor Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui will hoist the national flag on the main campus. While talking to APP on Saturday, Siddiqui said that our armed forces were capable of dealing with internal and external challenges faced by the country.

He said that Pakistan was a peace-loving country and did not seek wars. "However, we also believe in honour and dignity and making our defence strong, he added. APP/jml/rap/bmq
