
Five Dead, 28 Injured In Chakri Bus Crash

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jul, 2025) At least five people lost their lives while over two dozen sustained injuries in a tragic bus accident on M-2 Motorway near Chakri on Sunday, due to slippery road conditions caused by recent rainfall.
According to a spokesperson for the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP), the ill-fated bus was en route from Rawalpindi to Multan when the driver lost control, leading to the crash.
Upon receiving the alert, Motorway Police and rescue teams from the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and Rescue 1122 promptly arrived at the scene and initiated relief operation.
Rescue teams from the FWO and Rescue 1122, transported the deceased and injured—seven of whom are in critical condition, while over 21 sustained minor injuries—to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Chakwal.
Senior officials, including the Sector Commander M-2 North and the DSP Chakri Beat, were present at DHQ Chakwal and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) to monitor rescue and medical operations.
Relief efforts were ongoing as authorities worked to manage the aftermath and assist victims' families.
