
Gems, Jewelry Business Generating Jobs For Youth: Raheela

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th july,2016) : Speaker, Balochistan Assembly, Ms. Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani has said that gems and jewelry business has been contributing in international economy, with volume of billions of Dollars.
Adding that our hundreds of thousand of jobless youth including females could earn their respectful livelihood by this field. She was addressing a certificate distribution ceremony held under Pakistan Gems and Jewelry Development Company (PGJDC), Ministry of Production, Government of Pakistan, here on Tuesday.
The ceremony was attended by Chairman, PGJDC, Abdul Razzaq, Chief Executive Officer, PGJDC, Bakhtiar Khan, Vice Chancellor, Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University, Ms. Rukhsana Jabeen. Member, Balochistan Assembly. Ms.
Masooma Hayat, Principal, Pakistan Gems and Jewelry Training and Manufacturing Center (PGJTMC) Quetta, Syed Bashir Agha, Senior Gemologist at PGJTMC Quetta, Jalil Ahmed Baraich, Chairperson, Balochistan Women Business Association, Ms.
Sana Durrani, Chairman, Geology Department, University of Balochistan, Ayyub Baloch, NVTAC officials, Shahid Bilal and Ayyub Samalani, Jewelers Association Quetta President, Ahsan Dotani, Provincial Director, SMEDA, Abdul Shakoor Baloch, Trade Testing board official, Taj Muhammad, Anjuman Tajran Balochistan leaders, Syed Taj Agha and Abdul Raheem Kakar and a large number of students attended the ceremony.
The Speaker, Balochistan Assembly said: "Pakistan, especially Balochistan is rich in natural resources, particularly, precious gemstones.
We can generate hundreds of thousands of jobs by promoting business pertaining to gems and jewelry". She requested the Federal government to give status of industry to the business of gems and jewelry.
She urged women to get training of jewelry designing and manufacturing at PGJTM centers established in several cities of the country as saying that after completing training courses at PGJTMC, they could earn their livelihood by home based business, respectfully.
"Business pertaining to gems and jewelry not only could boost our economy but it could also generate more opportunities for our jobless youth of earning livelihood, respectfully," she said. Chairman, PGJDC, Abdul Razzaq said there was a large scope of business in gems and jewelry field.
"After completing your training course at PGJTM Centers, you do not need to find job but you can earn your livelihood by initiating your own business," he said. CEO, PGJDC, Bakhtiar Khan said that gems and jewelry designing, manufacturing and faceting business had special contribution in international business and economy.
Later, certificates were distributed among students who completed their professional training courses at PGJTMC Quetta.
