Govt To Resolve Issues Of Overseas Pakistanis On Priority Basis: Chairman OPF

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th August, 2016) : The Chairman OPF board of Governors Barrister Amjad Malik said that the present government attaches high importance with overseas Pakistanis and all efforts will be made to provide them maximum services. He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif personally monitoring crisis faced by Pakistani workers in Saudi Arabia and he has directed for early solution of the problems bring faced by the overseas Pakistanis. Barrister Amjad Malik expressed these views while chairing OPF Board of Governors' 133rd meeting at OPF Head Office. The meeting was attended by Federal Secretary, Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Khizar Hayat Khan, Capt.

Noor ul Hassan Tanvir (UAE), Muhammad Jahangir Minhas (AJK), Sahibzada Saeed Ahmed, Head (SSU), Dr. Irfan Yousaf Shami, Additional Secretary, Foreign Office, Haq Nawaz, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Finance and Asad Hayauddin, Additional Secretary, Commerce Division.
The Chairman said that overseas Pakistanis are an asset for Pakistan and their contribution to the economy of Pakistan and their potential make them uniquely placed as stakeholders in the development and prosperity of Pakistan.
He said that the government desired to use potential of Pakistani expatriates to promote positive image of Pakistan. Barrister Malik said that provision of more facilities and resolution of problems being faced by overseas Pakistanis is the top most priority of the government.
The chairman vowed to make OPF more vibrant, effective and service oriented. During the meeting the Board Members were briefed about various welfare activities of OPF regarding provision of facilities to Pakistani expatriates and their dependents. The Board reviewed the mission statement and future vision of OPF for next three years.
