
High Alert Issued As 127,000-cusecs Water Flow Enters River Jhelum

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jul, 2025) Deputy Commissioner Capt (retd) Muhammad Waseem and District Police Officer Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf visited the Khushab Bridge to review the water inflow and outflow in River Jhelum as well as the flood safety measures in place.
During the visit, it was reported that a high flood wave of 127,000 cusecs had entered the Sargodha region through River Jhelum. In response, the district administration issued a high alert across the region.
The DC conducted a detailed inspection of flood relief arrangements, real-time monitoring systems, and preparedness for any potential emergency.
He directed all relevant departments to remain on high alert and to utilize all available resources to respond effectively in case of flooding.
DPO Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf also reviewed the readiness of police, Rescue 1122, and other emergency response agencies, assuring that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority.
The district administration is taking all possible steps to tackle any untoward situation proactively,a spokesman of district administration said.
