
376 Graduates, First PhD Scholar Receive Degrees At SMIU's 6th Convocation

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jul, 2025) Sindh Madressatul islam University has conferred degrees to 376 graduates of different disciplines while first PhD scholar was also received his degree in its 6th convocation of the University held here in a local hotel on Thursday.
Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chairman Higher education Commission Sindh Dr Tariq Rafi, Vice Chancellor Dr Mujeeb Sahrai and other personalities were present on the occasion.
The Chief guest and other honourable guests also distributed 3 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 14 bronze medals among 27 graduates of BS, MS and PhD students. Among the gold medal recipients were Yusra (Faculty of Management, business Administration and Commerce), Sadaf Khalid (Faculty of Social Sciences) and Dr. Abdullah Ayub Khan, first Ph.D. of SMIU from the Department of Computer Science. Dr. Abdullah Ayub Khan is counted among young scientists of the world.
Among recipients of silver medals were Mahnoor Fatima (Faculty of Education), Muhmmad Ahmed Ansari (Faculty of Information Technology), Yusra (Faculty of Management, Business Administration and Commerce), Aizaz Ahmed (Faculty of Sciences), Nida Akram (Faculty of Social Sciences), Hamna Lakhani (Faculty of Language and Culture), Wardah Manzoor (Faculty of Information Technology), Aimen (Faculty of Management, Business Administration and Commerce), Duaa Siddiqui (Faculty of Sciences) and Sadaf Khalid (Faculty of Social Sciences).
Likewise Mahnoor Fatima (Bachelor of Education), Muhmmad Ahmed Ansari (BS Artificial Intelligence), Nazia Bibi (BS Computer Science), Hanan Ahmed Malik (BS Software Engineering), Yusra (Bachelor of Business Administration), Aizaz Ahmed (BS Environmental Sciences), Nida Akram – (BS Media Studies), Hamna Lakhani (BS English), Wardah Manzoor (BS Artificial Intelligence), Isna Karim (BS Computer Science), Aimen (Bachelor of Business Administration), Duaa Siddiqui (BS Environmental Sciences), Amina Akber (BS Development Studies) and Ms.
Sadaf Khalid (BS Media and Communication Studies) were among recipients of bronze medals.
Among the medal recipients graduating female students were more in number than male graduating students. More interesting thing was that two female graduating students as Yusra from the Faculty of Management, Business Administration and Commerce and Sadaf Khalid from the Faculty of Social Sciences received three medals i.e. gold, silver and bronze.
On this occasion Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, Vice Chancellor SMIU presented souvenirs to Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Prof. Dr. Tariq Rafi, Chairman Sindh HEC, Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi, Chairman of Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee, Sindh HEC, Muhammad Abbas Baloch, Secretary Universities and Boards, Mr. Moeen Uddin Siddiqui, Secretary Sindh HEC, Mr. Cemal Sangu, Consul General of Turkiye in Karachi and Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, Federal Insurance Ombudsman. Chief Minister Sindh also gave away a souvenir to Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, Vice Chancellor SMIU.
