
Independence Day Celebrations To Be Held From Aug 1 Tot 14 ; Says Commissioner Sukkur

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jul, 2025) Commissioner Sukkur Division, Abid Saleem Qureshi on Monday has announced that this year's Independence Day celebrations will be observed from August 1 to August 14 under the theme "Maarka-e-Haq" (Struggle for Truth). The celebrations will pay tribute to the heroes of freedom and the brave men and women of the Pakistan Army.
The Commissioner made the announcement while presiding over a meeting at his office to discuss the organization of Independence Day celebrations in Sukkur Division. The meeting was attended by DIG Sukkur, Faisal Abdullah Chachar, Deputy Commissioner Sukkur, Dr. M.B. Raja Dharijo, Additional Commissioners, SSP Sukkur, Azhar Mughal, and other officials.
The celebrations will include a range of activities, such as poster, art, painting, and speech competitions, tree plantation drives, rallies, cultural events, national flag hoisting ceremonies, parades, and gymnastics competitions.
The Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioners, education Department, and other relevant departments to play a key role in organizing the celebrations.
A mega provincial Independence Day event will also be held at each district headquarters, where students from various schools and colleges will participate in competitions. The Commissioner instructed the Education Department to ensure that programs are held in all government and private schools from August 1 to August 14.
The Commissioner also directed the Secretary RT Sukkur to ensure that national flags are mounted on all government and private vehicles during this period. He further instructed all officials to illuminate all government buildings and ensure the hoisting of national flags from August 1 to August 14.
