
LHC Seeks Trial Record In Bail Pleas Of PTI Leader Ejaz Chaudhry

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday sought the complete trial record in connection with four May 9 cases during the hearing of bail petitions filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Ejaz Chaudhry
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2025) The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday sought the complete trial record in connection with four May 9 cases during the hearing of bail petitions filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Ejaz Chaudhry.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi heard the bail applications of the PTI leader.
During the proceedings, Deputy Prosecutor General Rana Shafiq submitted details regarding the bail status of other accused individuals. He further informed the bench that the bail applications of Ejaz Chaudhry, Shafqat Mahmood, and Omar Sarfraz Cheema had already been dismissed by the trial court.
The deputy prosecutor general also confirmed that challans in the cases had been submitted, and that statements of prosecution witnesses were currently being recorded, along with the ongoing cross-examination of official witnesses.
At this, the bench directed the deputy prosecutor general to present the record of the ongoing trial proceedings and adjourned further hearing till July 16.
Ejaz Chaudhry had filed post-arrest bail applications in four cases linked to the May 9 violence. He contended that the charges leveled against him were baseless and pleaded with the court to grant him the benefit of bail.
