
LWMC Starts Cleanliness Operation At Lahore Railway Station

The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has launched a cleanliness operation at Lahore railway station, in line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision for Suthra Punjab
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jul, 2025) The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has launched a cleanliness operation at Lahore railway station, in line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision for Suthra Punjab.
According to LWMC sources here on Friday, special attention is being given to Lahore railway station, a major transit point for passengers. LWMC CEO Babar Sahib Din said that the company had initiated top-notch cleaning facilities at Lahore Railway station.
Under agreement with Lahore Railway Station, LWMC had deployed 5 supervisors and 105 workers under the supervision of area manager, operating in three shifts to ensure round-the-clock cleanliness, sources added.
The LWMC sanitation team was responsible for cleaning platforms, reservation areas, waiting halls, washrooms, parking lots, railway tracks and offices within and around the station.
Regular washing of platforms and tracks were also being carried out during day and night shifts.
LWMC’s community mobilization wing organized an awareness campaign at the railway station to highlight the importance of cleanliness among passengers.
The drive included distributing educational materials and conducting awareness walks to engage citizens and emphasize their role in maintaining a clean city.
LWMC’s social mobilizer teams were also actively conducting awareness drives in various parks, door-to-door campaigns, markets and other public areas throughout Lahore.
These initiatives aimed at creating a sense of moral responsibility among residents to keep their city clean by always disposing of waste properly.
