Minister Bilal Yasin Inspects Construction Of Homes Under 'Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar' Programme

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2025) Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin visited the under-construction homes being built under the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” scheme in Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore, on Sunday.

Thousands of houses are being built across the province through Rs. 1.5 million interest-free loans provided by the Punjab government. “By granting Rs. 1.5 million interest-free loans, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has turned dreams into reality,” the minister remarked.

He visited the home of a differently-abled man, offered prayers for the family, and placed a comforting hand on the head of the man’s daughter in a gesture of compassion.

PHATA (Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency) Director General Sikandar Zeeshan and officers from allied departments accompanied the minister during his visit.

Bilal Yasin said that laborers, shopkeepers, street vendors, and daily wage earners are benefiting from the scheme and building their own homes with dignity. Over 7,500 families in the Lahore Division have already received interest-free loans on a merit basis. He said nearly 6,000 homes are currently under construction in Lahore alone. “This is the first time in Pakistan’s history that a housing initiative of such magnitude is progressing with transparency and speed,” he added.

The housing minister further announced that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will soon unveil additional facilities for beneficiaries of the scheme across Punjab.
