PHA DG reviews upgradation work at Greater Iqbal Park

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jul, 2025) Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore Director General Mansoor Ahmad paid a detailed visit to Greater Iqbal Park to inspect ongoing development, maintenance, and beautification works. The visit is part of a broader initiative being implemented under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif to promote a cleaner, greener, and more vibrant Lahore.

During the visit, the DG was accompanied by Director M&O Saulat Hayat Wattoo and the Project Director, who briefed him on the progress of current works.

DG Mansoor Ahmad expressed satisfaction over the pace and quality of development and issued further instructions to enhance cleanliness, landscaping, and public amenities within the park.

He also toured the adjacent green belts and nearby parks to assess their condition and directed field staff to ensure timely maintenance, including sanitation, grass cutting, pruning, and the proper functioning of water and lighting systems.

He emphasized the need to provide uninterrupted civic services to park-goers and improve the aesthetic appeal of public spaces.

The DG’s visit coincided with the ongoing Monsoon Plantation Campaign, which has gained momentum following his directives. He noted that fruit-bearing and shade-giving trees would be planted across Lahore’s green belts to improve air quality and offer shaded areas for the public.

He said that the PHA is committed to restoring and upgrading Lahore’s parks and green spaces. “We are taking practical steps every day to realize the Chief Minister’s vision of a healthy and eco-friendly city.” Greater Iqbal Park is a symbol of Lahore’s heritage and pride, and its maintenance will remain a top priority, he added.
