
Prosecutor General Chairs Meeting On PFSA Rules, Forensic Evidence

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jul, 2025) A high-level meeting, chaired by Prosecutor General Punjab Syed Farhad Ali Shah, was convened on Thursday with senior officials from the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) and the Punjab Home Department to discuss the formulation of PFSA operational rules and the role of its scientists as court witnesses.
The meeting, held at PFSA headquarters, included key attendees such as Dr. Muhammad Amjad, Director General PFSA; Imran Hussain Ranjha, Additional Secretary Punjab Home Department; Muhammad Arshad Ali Farooqi, Deputy Prosecutor General Punjab/Director Admin; Dr. Usman Iqbal, Director Legal; and Ruqayya Ambreen, Public Relations Officer, among others.
Participants agreed to draft new rules to enhance PFSA’s efficiency and streamline its operations. The discussions also addressed the critical role of PFSA scientists in presenting forensic evidence in courts to strengthen judicial processes.
Syed Farhad Ali Shah stressed the importance of close collaboration between the Prosecution Department and PFSA to bolster public safety and ensure effective law enforcement across Punjab. He urged all stakeholders to submit further recommendations to support these efforts.
The meeting marks a significant step towards improving forensic services and inter-departmental coordination in Punjab’s justice system.
