
Punjab Police Launch Crackdown On Suspects Involved In Cases Of Violent Protests

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Oct 18th, 2025) Punjab Police have launched an extensive crackdown across the province to arrest individuals involved in recent violent protests and attacks on law enforcement. The operation, initially focused in Lahore, has now expanded to other cities as authorities intensify efforts to restore law and order.
The police sources said that over 5,600 suspects have been arrested so far from various parts of Punjab, including 681 individuals detained in Lahore alone. These arrests are linked to multiple incidents of violence, vandalism, and aggression against police personnel.
The crackdown is being carried out using digital tools and intelligence gathering.
Officials are utilizing mobile call records, WhatsApp group data, and social media tracking to identify and locate additional suspects.
“Law enforcement agencies are actively monitoring social media accounts being used to incite violence and spread unrest,” a police spokesperson said. “Those found guilty of spreading hate or misinformation online are being identified and taken into custody.”
The authorities have confirmed that operations will continue until all individuals involved in the unrest are brought to justice. The police have urged the public to cooperate and report any suspicious activity that could help in maintaining peace across the province.
