Two Robbery Accused Injured In Police Encounter

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2025) Two robbery accused sustained serious bullet injuries while their accomplices managed to escape from the scene after a police encounter in the area of Batala Colony police station.
Police spokesman said here on Sunday that Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Sohail Mushtaq was carrying back two robbery accused Arsalan and Mujahid after recovery of case property when four assailants riding on two motorcycles intercepted the police van near Stop No.5 late night.
The accused opened blunt firing and got the arrested robbers freed from police custody before feeling the scene.
The police chased the accused and called more police for help. The police encircled the accused after some distance near Gandha Khoh and directed them for surrender but the outlaws once against opened indiscriminate firing on the police team.
The police also returned fire in self-defense and during this encounter, both robbery accused Arsalan and Mujahid received injuries due to the bullets fired their own accomplices.
The police arrested the injured outlaws while others managed to escape from the scene under the cover of darkness.
The injured outlaws were criminal record holders and they were wanted to the police in more than a dozen of robbery and theft cases.
The police shifted the injured to hospital and started investigation for arrest of the escapees, he added.
