Joint Meeting Reviews Kohat Peace Agreement

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2025) A joint meeting of the Grand Peace Jirga and elders from the tribal districts of Kurram and Hangu was held in Kohat on Sunday to review the implementation of the Kohat Peace Agreement.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including General Officer Commanding 9th Division, Major General Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, Commissioner Kohat Division, Mutasim Bilullah Shah, and other senior officials. The participants reviewed the general peace and order situation, development activities, and progress made under the agreement.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the participants to unconditional cooperation with all government institutions for lasting peace in the area.

They resolved to support no anti-national person or activity and ensure the full implementation of the Kohat Peace Agreement.

The meeting discussed various initiatives, including education, healthcare, transportation, and drinking water, aimed at promoting development and peace in the region.

The participants also emphasized the importance of voluntary surrender of weapons and the role of local peace committees in maintaining peace.
