Monsoon tree plantation drive held at Govt Girls College DIKhan

Dera Ismail Khan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2025) Under the supervision of the district administration and in collaboration with the Forest Department, tree plantation activities are underway across the district as part of the monsoon afforestation campaign.

In this regard, a plantation ceremony was organized at Government Girls Degree College No. 1, Dera Ismail Khan. The event aimed to promote environmental sustainability and raise awareness about the importance of tree plantation during the monsoon season.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief & HR) Tehreem Shah, Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Syed Arsalan Shah, Principal of the college Ms.

Afia Saadat, Sub-Divisional Forest Officer Asif Kundi, officials from the District Forest Office, and probationary officers of the Provincial Management Services including Uswah Jameela, Taimoor-ul-Hassan, and Muhammad Umair attended the ceremony.

During the event, various fruit-bearing and ornamental trees were planted within the college premises, including pomegranate, Bauhinia, plum, guava, java plum, lemon, and sapodilla.

The plantation drive is part of the government’s broader vision to combat climate change, promote green cover, and engage educational institutions in environmental conservation efforts.
