
UNHCR' VRCs To Remain Close On Independence Day

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Augst,2016) : United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) has announded that Voluntary Repatriation Centers (VRC) in Baleli in Quetta will be closed on account of Pakistan's Independence Day holiday on August 14 (Sunday) and will re-open on August 15 (Monday).
Afghan refugees holding Proof of Registration (PoR) or UNHCR- issued refugee cards, who are planning to return to Afghanistan from Pakistan under the UN Refugee Agency's facilitated voluntary repatriation programme are hereby informed, said a press release here Friday.
The Voluntary Repatriation Centre in Chamkani in Peshawar will remain closed on from August 14 (Sunday) until August 15 (Monday) and will reopen on August 16 (Tuesday).
As per usual practice, Afghan refugees in Pakistan who wish to proceed through the VRCs after the facilitated returns resume are encouraged to contact the following UNHCR helpline numbers, which are operational between 8am to 8pm, before approaching the centers. The helpline numbers in Pakistan are follows, Peshawar Helpline: 0300-858-5600, Quetta Helpline: 0300-0771699, 0333-781- 9601, Karachi helpline: 0342-270-4888.
