FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2025) Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) has imposed a complete ban on all leave requests from its operations and technical staff to strengthen urban flood management and drainage services during monsoon season.
Managing Director (MD) WASA Sohail Qadir Cheema said here on Monday that this decision would help ensure uninterrupted water supply and drainage services during heavy rainfall.
He also directed all deputy managing directors to enforce this directive strictly and without exception.
He said that special measures are being taken to expedite rainwater drainage and provide immediate relief to the public.
He said that due to the emergency nature of monsoon-related challenges, the staff availability is imperative and leaves cannot be granted during this critical period.
He said that all operational staff has now been assigned to their duty points and any negligence or dereliction of duty during this time would not be tolerated at any cost.
This step has been taken purely in the public interest to mitigate urban flooding and other seasonal disruptions, he added.
