
WCLA DG Visits Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh Project Site

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2025) Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) Director General Maleeha Rashid on Saturday visited the Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh Project site to review the progress of ongoing conservation and development works being carried out under WCLA’s heritage preservation initiative.
According to a press release issued here detailed briefing was given at the site where the Senior Architect, along with project staff, presented a comprehensive overview of the project’s scope, progress and technical components.
During the visit, the Director General issued several key directives to ensure the timely and quality completion of the project.
In addition to the site inspection, Maleeha Rashid also visited prominent heritage and cultural landmarks within the Walled City area of Multan, including the shrines of Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam, Hazrat Baha-ud-Din Zakariya, Hazrat Musa Pak Shaheed and Hazrat Shah Shams Tabriz Subzwari.
She also visited the Damdama Art Gallery, which had recently been handed over to WCLA for public engagement and cultural programming.
The DG directed the stationed WCLA staff to mobilize and accelerate work in close coordination with the district administration. She emphasized the significance of timely delivery and quality conservation, saying, “The preservation of our historic and cultural landmarks is not just a responsibility, but a legacy we owe to future generations. Every effort must reflect our commitment to excellence and authenticity."
