
Wheelchairs, E-bikes Distributed Among Special Persons

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd May, 2026) Assistive devices, wheelchairs, electric bikes and hearing aids were distributed among special persons in Faisalabad.
Deputy Director Social Welfare Amina Alam said here on Friday that the Punjab government had provided assistive devices, wheelchairs, hearing devices and e-bikes ensure inclusive welfare and social protection of special persons.
She said that Faisalabad district had already distributed 298 assistive devices among persons with disabilities under the ongoing program, aimed at enhancing mobility, communication and independence.
She said that 13 special persons were provided with electric bikes, motorized wheelchairs and hearing aid devices to facilitate their daily lives and improve access to education, employment and social participation.
The distribution included four electric bikes, two motorized wheelchairs and seven hearing aid devices, reflecting a targeted approach to address diverse needs of beneficiaries.
Former Member of Assembly Hajji Akram Ansari, Member Chief Minister Media Cell Adnan Sialvi, Divisional Coordinator Rana Waris Hussain, Director Social Welfare Khalida Rafiq and representative of Saylani Welfare Trust Muhammad Aslam Nisar were also present on the occasion.
In addition to assistive devices, the Saylani Welfare Trust also distributed clothing among special persons as gifts, adding to the spirit of support and community care.
Speaking on the occasion, the officials said that the program was part of a broader policy framework to ensure that persons with disabilities were not left behind and were provided equal opportunities to lead dignified lives.
They emphasized that access to assistive technologies played a vital role in enabling independence and boosting confidence among special persons.
The parents of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister (CM) for prioritizing welfare initiatives for vulnerable segments of society.
They also appreciated the efforts of Social Welfare Department in reaching out to deserving individuals and addressing their practical needs.
