They were part of the Elite Exped team and were joined on the ascent by Sheikha Asma Al Thani of Qatar’s royal family. The successful summit marks a major milestone for the Pakistani climbers, demonstrating exceptional endurance and mountaineering skill.
“This climb is a true testament to their determination and professionalism,” said Karrar Haidri, Vice President of the Alpine Club of Pakistan, while confirming the achievement.
The climbers are now making their descent, with all team members reported to be in good health. Gasherbrum-I, also known as Hidden Peak, stands at 8,080 metres and is the 11th highest mountain in the world.
The successful ascent adds to Pakistan’s growing presence in high-altitude climbing, particularly among homegrown talent.
