
Zone-VI Clinches Back-to-back Titles In Karachi Region Cricket

Zone-VI retained their title in the PCB Regional Inter District Senior (Karachi Region) Cricket Tournament after defeating Zone-V by an innings and 3 runs at UBL Sports Complex
KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jul, 2025) Zone-VI retained their title in the PCB Regional Inter District Senior (Karachi Region) Cricket Tournament after defeating Zone-V by an innings and 3 runs at UBL Sports Complex. This marked Zone-VI’s second consecutive championship win, with one match still remaining in the tournament.
Batting first, Zone-VI posted a strong total of 310. In response, Zone-V were bowled out for 133 in their first innings and, following on, were dismissed for 174 in 52 overs. Notable batting efforts for Zone-V came from Muhammad Hassan Iqbal (76, 12x4), Muhammad Ali Butt (24), and Shoaib Khan (20). For Zone-VI, Muhammad Maaz and Muhammad Makki took three wickets each, while Saifullah impressed with a match haul of 7/73.
Meanwhile, at Baqai Cricket Ground, Zone-IV claimed a 38-run win over Zone-III, securing their second victory of the tournament. Zone-IV scored 253 in the first innings and 205 in the second. Contributions came from Yasir Mushtaq (39), Arsalan Farzand (38), Afnan Khan (36), and Imran Shah (29). Zone-III managed 217 and 207 in their two innings.
Zone-IV’s left-arm spinner Afnan Khan delivered a remarkable performance, taking 6/79 in the second innings and 11/120 in the match. He was well supported by Hamza Qureshi, who picked up 2/73.
