RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jul, 2025) Anjum Aqeel Khan, MNA called hepatitis a "silent killer" that causes irreversible liver damage without early symptoms, speaking at an awareness seminar on World Hepatitis Day in Rawalpindi. The event, organized by Chaudhry Muhammad Naeem, founder of Save food Pakistan and patron-in-chief of the Restaurants, Caterers, Sweets, and Bakers Association, aimed to promote awareness and preventive measures against the disease.

The parliamentarian emphasized the need for continuous community engagement, urging outreach to villages, schools, offices, and mosques to educate people about the dangers of the disease and precautionary measures. He called for a hepatitis awareness that should be a sustained social responsibility, not a one-day campaign.

Mohsin Ayub Khan, MPA urged the people for reinforcing the importance of ongoing public health efforts.

Chaudhry Muhammad Naeem highlighted his initiatives, including establishing a hepatitis laboratory and modern operation theater at Benazir Bhutto Hospital to ensure timely, quality treatment for Rawalpindi residents.

Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry, the association’s president, recalled their role in supporting COVID-19 vaccination efforts and reaffirmed their commitment to fighting hepatitis.

Representatives from business, welfare, and health organizations, along with citizens, attended in large numbers.
