Hong Kong stocks extend gains as energy firms rally

HONG KONG, , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Nov, 2016 ) - Shares in Hong Kong built on the previous day's gains after another record close on Wall Street, while energy firms were lifted by a surge in oil prices.

The Hang Seng index rose 0.

63 percent, or 140.19 points, to 22,464.10. And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.05 percent, or 1.51 points, to 3,208.50, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.10 percent, or 2.05 points, to 2,126.45.
