Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Augst,2016) : Three ships C.V Maersk Stockholm, M.T SC Tain Jin and M.T Chem Star Tiger carrying containers, palm oil and chemicals were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday. Meanwhile two more shiops C.V Maipo and M.T Liberty-N With Containers and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim During last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy as managed at the Port seventy three percent on Wednesday where a total of eleven berths were engaged by ships namely C.V Maersk Stockholm, C.V MSC Albany, Maersk Memphis, M.V Diamond Sea, M.V CMB Adrienne, M.V Hong Source, M.V Sea Pegasus, M.T Chem Star Tiger, M.T SC Tain Jin, M.T Nassau Energy and M.T Globe Tanya to load/offload containers,cement, rice, general cargo, canola seeds, chemicals, LPG, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 133,159 tonnes, comprising 104,337 tonnes imports cargo and 28,822 tonnes exports cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,710 containers (TEUs)(1,430 imports TUEs & 1,280 TUEs exports was handled at the port. Three ships C.V MSC Albany, M.V Diamond Sea and M.V Hong Source sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships M.T SC Tain Jin, M.T Nassau Energy are expected to sail on same day afternoon. Two ships C.V Maipo and M.T Ugland carrying containers and diesel oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday, while two more container vessel Maersk Innoshima and CMA CGM Tosca are due to arrive on Friday.
