Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Augst,2016) : C.V Maipo carrying containers was allotted berth at Qasim international Container Terminal on Thursday. Meanwhile two more ships M.T GSW Frontier and m.T Pacific Singapore carrying chemicals and furnace oil also arrive at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was managed at the Port 475 on Thursday where a total of seven berths were engaged by ships namely C.V Maipo C.V Maersk Stockholm, M.V CMB Adrienne, M.V Sea Pegasus, M.T Chem Star Tiger, M.T Nassau Energy and M.T Globe Tanya to load/offload containers, cement, rice, general cargo, canola seeds, chemicals, LPG, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours. Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 78,379 tonnes, comprising 43985 tonnes import cargo and 34,394 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,004 containers (TEUs)(1,204 imports TUEs & 1,800 TUEs exports was handled t the port.

Three ships C.V Maipo, M.T Globe Tanya and M.T Nassau Energy sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships C.V Maersk Stockholm and m.T Chem Star Tiger are expected to sail on same day afternoon. Four ships C.V Maersk Innoshima, C.V CMA CGM Tosca, M.T GSW Frontier and M.T Mari Ugland carrying containers, chemicals and diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, EVTL and FOTCO respectively on Friday, while three more ships C.V Nicoline Maersk, C.V MSC Leanne and M.T Ummbab with containers and LNG are due to arrive on Saturday and C.V MSC Lisban is due to arrive on Sunday.
