Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd july,2016) : Four ships CMA CGM Corneile, GSW Future, Impros and Ummbab carrying containers, chemicals, furnace oil and LNLG were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal Engro Vopak Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Thursday. In the meantime four more ships Maitros, E.R Tainping, E.R Bilbao and Okyroe with furnace oil, diesel oil and containers also got anchored at outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Berth occupancy was observed at the prot at 60% on Thursday where a total of nine berths were engaged by ships namely C.V CMA CGM Corneile, C.V Maersk Savannah, M.V Johar Express, M.V Angelic Glory, M.T Navg-8 Around, M.T Golden Briliant, M.T GSW Future, M.T Impros and M.T Ummbab to load/offload containers, cement, canola seeds, soyabeen oil palm oil, furnace oil and chemicals, and LNG respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 130,822 tonnes, comprising 87,598 tonnes import cargo and 43,244 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,922 containers (TEUs)(807 imports TUEs & 2,115 TUEs exports) was handled at the port. Four ships M.T GSW Future, M.T Navg-8 Around, M.T Orhan and C.V CMA CGM Corneile sailed out to sea on Friday morning while another ships M.T Golden Briliant is expected to sail on same day afternoon. Three ships C.V E.R Traiping, C.V Maersk Innoshima and M.V Yangze-6 carrying containers and coal are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Multipurpose Terminal respectively on Friday.
