ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th july, 2016) : Senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Aitzaz Ahsan has demanded the government to arrest leaders of “Move on Pakistan” party for hanging pro-army chief posters in Islamabad.
“Despite of the availability of phone numbers mentioned onThe posters of Move on Pakistan party leaders, why there is no arrest carried out by the authorities?" Ahsan said while speaking to media persons outside Supreme Court.
“Why any notice has not been taken by the Interior minister Chaudhry Nisar? He must order their arrest and try them under Article 6 for treason,” the veteran politician said.
He said the opposition believes that the posters are hanged on the orders of the government in order to pressurize the opposition and civil society in the pretence of any possible military coup.
The posters appeared in Lahore, Karachi and the garrison city of Rawalpindi stating, “Talk of leaving has become old, for God’s sake come now,” scream the posters, referring to General Raheel Sharif’s decision to step down at the end of his tenure this year. However, Pakistan Army denies any link with the posters.
