
Dilapidated Buildings Pose Life Threats, MCR Identified 86 Dangerous Buildings

Municipal corporation Rawalpindi (MCR) while having a survey across the city, has identified 86 buildings as dangerous ones and served notices to owners for immediate evacuation to prevent loss of life
RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jul, 2025) Municipal corporation Rawalpindi (MCR) while having a survey across the city, has identified 86 buildings as dangerous ones and served notices to owners for immediate evacuation to prevent loss of life.
The buildings have been deemed unsafe due to their deteriorating condition, posing serious risks to residents and surrounding areas, particularly during the ongoing monsoon season.
Municipal corporation Rawalpindi has issued formal evacuation notices to the owners and residents of these buildings to evacuate within the next 15 days under the Punjab Local Government Act 2022. The move is part of a broader effort by city administration to identify and mitigate threats posed by aging infrastructure, especially in densely populated urban zones.
These buildings need to be demolished/ rebuilt.
Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi will provide full technical and administrative support in these measures to prevent any possible casualties or financial losses.
Chief Officer Imran Ali said that the protection of the lives and property of the citizens is our top priority, so no negligence or delays will be tolerated.
Likewise, encroachers on the banks of Nullah Lai and other tributaries have also been strictly warned to immediately remove their encroachments and move to safe places. Failure of its compliance will face legal action and the encroachments will be forcibly removed.
Moreover, administration has requested general public to immediately implement these instructions to protect themselves and others and approach the Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi for any information or complaints.
