The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted a request under quarterly adjustment
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-July 29th, 2025) Electricity prices across the country are likely to decrease by Rs. 1.75 per unit for consumers.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted a request under quarterly adjustment.
The request has been filed for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2024-25. If approved, consumers will receive relief exceeding Rs. 53.39 billion.
The quarterly adjustment will also be applicable to government-run distribution companies, including K-Electric.
NEPRA (National Electric Power Regulatory Authority) will hold a hearing on the CPPA's request on August 4. If the adjustments for September, October, and November are approved, the relief could increase further—up to Rs. 2.10 per unit for these months.
NEPRA will make a final decision regarding the prices after the hearing.
