
Govt Desires Provision Of Ideal Environment To Investors: CM

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th july, 2016) : Chief Minister Pervez Khattak Wednesday said that the provincial government wants to give an ideal environment to investors and facilitate them to the maximum.
He said it would be a step forward towards restoring the confidence of investors to come and invest in the province for earning more dividends. He was talking to a seven-member delegation of Pakistan Community in USA who came for investment in various sectors.
Speaker Provincial Assembly Asad Qaiser, Senior Minister Health Shahram Tarakai, Advisor to CM Abdul Munim, Parliamentary Secretary Dr. Haider Ali and other concerned officials were present in the meeting that held in CM house here.
The Chief Minister, on the occasion revealed that his government would launch its own insurance company to reduce investment risk and work out how to safeguard foreign investment in potentially rich sectors of the province.
Unfortunately corrupt practices in past eroded confidence of the investors, he said adding government eliminated corruption and irregularities and made the environment congenial for investors in KP. Regarding sick industrial units, he said that their production were to be consumed in Afghanistan but inappropriate environment in neighboring Afghanistan dried down markets for industrial units of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
We have developed different types of industrial plots in existing and new industrial zones and commercials hubs for onward offering to the potential investors. These would be for small, medium and large scale industrial units in Rashkai, Hattar, Jalozai, Ghazi, Dera, Bannu, Swat and others. He said government has systematically planned industrialization in the province and a separate company has been launched which to look industrialization process and facilitation of investors in the province.
The provincial government has already planned three townships in KP and would offer some of the land in these townships to potential investors for healthcare related activities. Even there will be areas at Swat Express Way which would be developed on commercial lines and offered to potential investors, he informed. Chief Minister also directed concerned officials of different public sector institutions to hold meetings with the delegation and show them potential advantages and opportunities in different sectors of the province.
He also indicated the space for investment in tourism adding that his government would provide land for the tourism related investment in the province. Chief Minister said his government was already working on hydel power generation of 1100 mega watt (MW) wherein 600 MW projects were being given to FWO and the rest was opened to the open competition.
Solar energy and Wind energy are other areas where they can get permission from the Federal government and provincial government would facilitate the investors, he assured. The provincial government, he added has allocated resources to new system of governance at district and Tehsil levels and it would be mandatory for them to use a certain amount of money on waste management, cleanliness and sanitation at lower tiers of governance.
He said the provincial government has already released one billion rupees for the academic bloc of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institutes for its expansion programme.
