ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) The 6th International Students Convention and Expo (ISCE) 2026 concluded in Islamabad after four days of academic, cultural and industrial activities, attracting participation from thousands of students, universities and industry representatives from across Pakistan and abroad.
Organisers said the convention brought together students from more than 40 universities along with participants from various industries and academic institutions. A significant number of international students also attended the event, adding a global dimension to the activities.
The convention was organised at multiple institutions in Islamabad and Haripur. The opening ceremony was held at Riphah International University, while the educational and industrial expo took place at FAST National University. Competitions and workshops were hosted by Quaid-i-Azam University and Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute, Haripur.
The four-day event featured academic competitions, workshops, indoor games, innovation showcases and a large-scale industrial exhibition aimed at promoting learning, networking and collaboration among students and institutions. Student-led projects, technology demonstrations and food stalls also remained a major attraction during the expo.
Organisers said the convention provided young participants with opportunities to showcase their academic abilities, entrepreneurial ideas and creative skills while interacting with experts from academia and industry.
Government College University Faisalabad secured the overall team trophy in the competitions, while the University of Sargodha obtained second position.
Speaking at the concluding session, founder of the International Students Convention Muhammad Murtaza Noor said the platform had evolved into an important forum for youth engagement, academic interaction and cultural exchange. He said such initiatives help students explore opportunities in higher education, innovation and industry while promoting collaboration among institutions.
Former chairman of the Higher Education Commission Dr Javaid Laghari highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between academia and industry for sustainable development and technological progress. He said academic conventions and expos played a vital role in bridging the gap between education, research and the job market.
The event also included panel discussions, interactive sessions and a diplomatic forum where academicians, industry leaders and foreign diplomats exchanged views on promoting Pakistan as a regional hub for higher education and innovation.
The convention was organised in collaboration with several educational institutions and partner organisations, including the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and OIC-COMSTECH.
