According to Museum Field Officer Shahnaz Mahmood, the educational visits have transformed the museum into a hub of cultural engagement and historical learning by attracting enthusiastic young minds who are eager to explore the region’s rich heritage.

Recently, a group of students and faculty from a private university located in Madina Town visited the museum as part of their summer camp tour.

She said that the students visibly excited and engaged were guided through the museum’s ten galleries by the gallery attendants who offered detailed explanations at each stage of the visit.

The interactive tour covered the evolution of Faisalabad from its ancient roots in the Stone Age to the modern era, offering insights into the city’s transformation across centuries, she added.

She said that the students also explored exhibitions related to the Hindu, Sikh, Mughal and Muslim periods and gained a deeper understanding of the cultural and political shifts that have shaped the region.

They also viewed historic photographs of colonial-era architectural landmarks such as Gumti Fountain, Qaisery Gate, and the iconic Clock Tower which remain symbols of Faisalabad’s legacy, she added.

She said that the museum’s tribute wall also provided an inspiring glimpse into the lives and achievements of renowned figures from Faisalabad region including poets, musicians, singers and scholars.

Sharing their experiences in an interview, both students and teachers expressed immense appreciation for the educational value of the visit.

They described the tour as an enriching experience that brought textbook history to life and allowed them to witness their cultural roots first-hand, she added.

She said that the students group emphasized the importance of such visits in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world understanding.

They also conveyed a collective desire to organize more frequent tours in the future and encouraged the general public to visit the museum with their families to better understand their heritage.

The continued influx of student groups highlighted Lyallpur Museum’s role not only as a custodian of history but also as a living classroom that connects the younger generation with the legacy of their city, she added.
