Punjab Gears Up For “Maarka-e-Haq” Victory Celebrations In Lahore

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-May 8th, 2026) The preparations are underway in Punjab to mark the first celebration of what has been described as a “victory in Maarka-e-Haq” on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), decorative floats have been installed outside Race Course Park in Lahore as part of the celebrations. The displays have been set up to pay tribute to the armed forces.

PHA Managing Director Raja Mansoor Ahmed said the purpose of the floats is to honour the courage and sacrifices of the armed forces and highlight their bravery.

He stated that on May 8, the armed forces dealt a strong response to the enemy and delivered a decisive blow. He added that the celebrations aim to recognise the military’s performance and achievements.

As part of the events, a large “Azm-e-Aalishan” concert will also be held at Liberty Chowk at 8pm. The concert will feature performances by well-known singers, and entry will be free for the public.

Officials said the celebrations are being organised to express solidarity with the armed forces and acknowledge their role in defending the country.
