ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jul, 2025) Federal Minister for National food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, on Friday stressed the urgent need for political stability and democratic continuity in the country.

Speaking to a private news channel, he warned against the damaging effects of horse trading and engineered instability.

“Pakistan has gone through repeated cycles of instability, and it’s time all political forces commit to strengthening democratic norms rather than undermining them,” he said.

He noted that the culture of horse trading particularly during Senate elections has eroded public trust.

The minister highlighted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has consistently promoted democratic values, adding that the PML-N even gave the mandate to rivals in KP and Kashmir in the spirit of political fairness.

He also criticized the PTI for refusing to engage in meaningful dialogue at the national level.
