Revamping Of Jinnah Hospital Begins

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23th August, 2016) : Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical education Punjab, Najam Ahmed Shah has said that implementation on the plan of revamping of teaching hospitals including one of the city hospital Jinnah hospital has been started for which Rs 2 billion will be spent. He said this project would be completed during the current fiscal year. He stated this while addressing the opening ceremony of revamping of Jinnah Hospital here the other day.
Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College / Jinnah Hospital Prof. Mahmood Shaukat, MS Dr. Shafqat Ali, faculty members of AIMC, Additional Secretary Health Development Zaheer Abbas Malik, Additional Secretary Admin Asad Naeem, Chief Planning Officer Abdul Haq Bhatti and the representatives of executing international firm Meckinsy were also present in the ceremony.
Najam Ahmed Shah informed that four teaching hospitals including Jinnah Hospital, Allied Hospital Faisalabad, Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi and Children Hospital Multan were being revamped during current fiscal year.
The work has been started from Emergency department of Jinnah Hospital where a lot of steps have been taken for improving patients flow in the emergency department and for this purpose token system has been introduced and separate counters have been set up.
Five desks have been set up for the treatment of patients with minor nature diseases. The doctors would be available on these desks to receive the patients. Moreover, serious patients would be referred to the emergency ward and two attendants with each patient would be allowed to remain with their patients.
However, children upto 12 years of age would be directly referred to the Paeds Emergency.
