
Rs 9.3 M Bounty Disbursed Among Police Teams For Arresting TTP

PESHAWAR,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Augst,2016) : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani on Monday disbursed head money of Rs 9.3 million among police teams for arresting a TTP commander and five notorious militants and proclaimed offenders. The bounty was given at a ceremony here at the office of IGP. Six police officers received the head-money on behalf of their teams for arresting the militants.
Their arrests helped resolve 50 cases of terrorism. Briefing the ceremony, the Additional Inspector General of Counter-Terrorism Department, KP said the arrested militants included by the six police officers and their teams included Molvi Bahadar Jan was a commander of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
He was a resident of Mureeb Khel in Baka Khel, Bannu. He remained a close companion of TTP leadership, including Baitullah Mehsood, Hakimullah Mehsood and Hafiz Gul Bahadar. He was involved in attacks on security forces, besides firing and bomb blasts in Bannu.
He carried head money of Rs 5 million. Similarly, the second arrested terrorist Wali Muhammad alias Machai, a resident of Tarpatar , Urya Khal Dir Upper, was involved in attacks on police, security forces and government installations in Upper Dir district.
He carried head money of Rs 1 million. Likewise, terrorist Gulab Sher, a resident of Zargari in Bannu district, was involved in terrorist attacks on police/ security forces and kidnapping for ransom cases.
He also carried head money of Rs 1 million. Terrorist Asghar alias Mama, a resident of Kund Khwar, presently Badrashai in Nowshera district was wanted in bomb blasts in schools and other government installations in Peshawar and Nowshera and carried head money of Rs.
1.5 million. Similarly Saif Ali alias Safi, a resident of Ustarzai Payan, Kohat, was also involved in a bomb blast at Peshawar Chowk, Kohat, besides kidnapping for ransom and murder cases. He carried head money of Rs 300,000. Jameel, a resident of Terah Maidan, presently Tanda Banda in Kohat was also involved in bomb blasts, kidnapping for ransom and murder cases in Kohat.
He carried head money of Rs 500,000. It may be mentioned that the militants were arrested as a result of joint efforts of police and other law enforcing agencies. Addressing the officers, the IGP appreciated them for their dedication and courage, which he said, was a matter of pride for whole KP police force. He expressed full confidence in the CTD team members and advised them that the accused be challaned after thorough investigation.
He also stressed that proper follow-up of the cases in the courts should be made so that the arrested miscreants were convicted.
